Claire joins the Women’s Business Council

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from Equipmii: our CEO and Founder, Claire Given, has been appointed to the Women’s Business Council (WBC).

The WBC is a business-led initiative made up of senior leaders from across industry. Together, the Council works closely with the Government to deliver the Plan for Change — boosting women’s opportunities at work and ensuring that women’s voices shape the future of business.

The priorities for 2025/26

The planned priorities will reflect the Council’s mission to empower women in the workplace and recognise that gender equality isn’t just fair — it also drives productivity, innovation, and competitiveness across the economy. They will also address the disability and ethnicity pay gap.

Claire’s contribution

Claire draws on her lived experience as a disabled woman and her professional career to champion a fairer, more equitable society. On the Council, she is particularly focused on tackling the disability pay gap—an issue that aligns closely with our mission to build a world that is truly inclusive of disabled people.

By contributing to this work at national level, Claire is helping to ensure that the barriers faced by disabled people are acknowledged, addressed, and transformed into opportunities for systemic change.

Looking ahead

At Equipmii, we believe that inclusion benefits everyone. Claire’s appointment to the Women’s Business Council is not just recognition of her leadership, but also a reflection of our commitment to building a future where workplaces, products, and societies are fair and more accessible for all.

We’re incredibly proud to see Claire take her seat at the Council table and look forward to supporting the important work ahead.
